He then attended medical school at the University of Cape Town, completing his degree in 2005. Following his graduation, he worked on the University of Witwatersrand medical circuit, spending three years as a general surgery registrar and five years as a plastic surgery registrar. He subsequently managed a Burns unit at Leratong Hospital and served as Deputy in Charge of the Baragwanath Hospital Adult Burns Unit, the largest burns unit in the country.

In 2022, Dr Tjasink relocated to Cape Town, where he opened a practice at Christiaan Barnard Hospital, specialising in reconstructive surgery, and at Alchimia Clinic, where he focuses on cosmetic practice.

Dr Tjasink is a National Trainer for Restylane products and regularly educates other doctors and specialists on the nuances of this burgeoning field. This role has also provided him with opportunities to travel internationally and learn the latest techniques.

His interests are vast and varied, encompassing all aspects of his discipline, from reconstruction to cosmetics. Dr Tjasink enjoys this unique speciality immensely and cannot imagine pursuing any other profession.
